Hams Online Forum Rules - PLEASE READ!

In order to keep this forum running well and to prevent problems, please follow these simple rules for the forum. If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to contact one of the Moderators or the Site Admin.

General Rules:

• Debating in good faith is fine, however, we will not tolerate rudeness, insults, personal attacks, vulgarity or useless posts designed to "bait" a poster into a heated discussion. Our decision on this is FINAL.
  
• Post-padding, (posting simply to add to your post totals) is not allowed. Users doing so are subject to their posts being deleted, and possibly being banned, if necessary.
  
• We also do not allow posts that are sexual in nature or violate our provider's Terms of Service. The Hams Online team and our provider shall be the sole arbitrators of what does and what does not violate community standards.
  
• No advertising or "trolling." This includes using the forum email links and Private message system to spam other members.
  
• "How-to" discussions of illegal activities of any kind, including software or music piracy are not allowed.
  
• We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.
  
• We also reserve the right to ban anyone who willfully violates the forum rules.
  
• We would appreciate it if you refrain from blatant bashing of other boards.
  
• While these rules cover most things, we can't possibly anticipate every possible disruption with these rules. Therefore, we reserve the right to take whatever steps necessary to ensure this forum is not disrupted or abused in any way.
  
• No posts to any service asking for a referral or referral links of your own will be allowed. Such posts will be deleted.
  
• Please try to keep the one-word, meaningless posts to a minimum.
  
• Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed. If a new login account is desired, for whatever reason, notify a moderator or administrators of the change, and we will accomodate you.
  

Any threads/posts of these types will be deleted.

Advertising of Services

We will not tolerate users who post threads or send PM's (Private Messages) or emails to users of this forum to advertise or solicit any products or services. Explicit advertising in sigs are also not allowed.

Swap Shop section

• Neither Hams Online nor it's providers assume ANY responsibility for any deals made in the Buy and Sell section of this forum. All deals made are the sole responsibility of the posters involved in the deal. Shipping costs and any other details shall be the sole responsibility of the posters involved in the deal.
  
  
• There are NO WARRANTIES offered by Hams Online or it's provider. Any warranty details are at the option of the seller.
  
  
• Links to other ham-related pages that may also list your wanted or for sale items is allowed, so long as the linked site does not earn any commission from the transaction.
  
  
• Links to Ebay or other online auction site items are NOT allowed! If you choose to sell an item via Ebay, or some other online auction, then sell it there. This forum will NOT be used to drum up bids on your auction, nor will it be used to advertise that site or your items on it.
  

Links in Sigs

Links in signatures must follow these guidelines:

• Linking to a commercial product/service is fine, provided it is not a product or service that violates any other rules of this forum (adult-oriented pages, for example).
  
• Promotional text for a non-commercial product or service is ok, provided there are no price(s) of product(s) or service(s) listed.
  
• All provided links will NOT be sexual in nature nor will violate our provider's Terms of Service. The Hams Online team and our provider shall be the sole arbitrators of what does and what does not violate community standards.
  
• Duplicate links to the same URL in a sig are not allowed.

Avatars

Sexually explicit, morally degrading or violent avatars are not allowed and will be removed.

Signature Size Limits

All signatures should not exceed 300 characters max. The following limits also apply:

• For text signatures: 4 lines normal size, 8 lines small size and up to 90 chars per line. Font sizes above 2 are not allowed. (Blank lines count as lines.)
  
• For images in signatures: 1 image up to 300 pixels wide, 125 pixels tall and 20k in size
  

Remember that your signature is also sent with Private Messages, so try not to make them too large.

All IP addresses of all users of this forum are logged! Abusers of these rules cannot hide behind multiple user names.

Any violations of the above rules may be reported directly to the Site Admin or Moderators in complete confidence.
