It started with an idea at 3am.
Retired TV station owner John Kanzius, K3TUP, had built himself a radio frequency generator. He was going to use it to experiment with a new way to kill cancer cells. He had some salt water that he needed to desalinate. He figured he'd try to see if the radio waves would heat up the water to desalinate it.
